Keeway CR152 – My Honest Review (One of My First Bikes, and I Still Love It)
Let me take a moment to talk about one of the bikes that really started it all for me—the Keeway CR152. This wasn’t just some random ride I picked up—it was one of my first bikes, and it taught me a lot about riding, maintenance, and most of all, myself as a rider.
This bike might not be the fastest or the loudest on paper, but it gave me the freedom I was looking for when I first started riding. It’s simple, reliable, and honestly, I just really love it.
The Looks
The CR152 has that classic café-streetfighter style that immediately pulled me in. The stance, the tank shape, the low-slung feel—it looked like it wanted to be ridden hard. I’ve always been a fan of retro vibes mixed with a bit of aggressiveness, and the CR152 gave me that without trying too hard. It has that bad boy vibe, even for a 150cc-class bike.
Performance
It’s only 152cc, but man, I pushed that engine hard. I’d rev it out close to 8,000 RPM every shift just to squeeze out everything it had—and it kept going. The engine is simple but tough. It won’t win races, but it gave me enough torque to enjoy daily rides, weekend spins, and even the occasional highway blast.
And I’ll admit, I’m the type to redline it. I’d shift late, sometimes just to feel the engine cry out, and it never complained. It felt alive—even with its smaller displacement. For its weight and size, it handled really well, especially through corners. I got to know the bike so well that it felt like an extension of my body.
Sound and Feel
Let’s talk about that exhaust. I had a snake elbow with an M4, and that thing sounded deep and bassy. The kind of growl that turns heads even if you’re not going fast. I eventually thought about switching to a straight elbow, but honestly, the snake setup gave it a unique character.
The vibration? It’s there. But that’s part of the charm. That raw mechanical feel made me feel connected. No fancy engine balancing—just engine, metal, and rider.
What It Taught Me
This bike wasn’t just a ride—it was my teacher. I learned how to handle higher RPMs, how to corner faster, how to downshift smoothly. I learned to take care of my own maintenance, understand what the bike was telling me, and respect every ride.
Final Thoughts
Even now, after trying faster and newer bikes, the Keeway CR152 still has a place in my heart. It's simple, raw, and full of character. For a beginner or anyone who just wants to enjoy riding without overthinking, it's a great bike.
It might be small, but for me, it gave big memories. And no matter what I ride in the future, I’ll never forget the bike that made me fall in love with riding in the first place.
